You’re probably here because (like me) you love miniatures. And (like me) you have no idea where to start.
That’s why this whole website is here: to help newbies learn how to build miniature dollhouses.
Having my own miniature dollhouse (a painted lady, to be exact) has always been a dream of mine. Ever since I fell in love with the Fairy Castle at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, I’ve wanted my own miniature dollhouse.
But it’s an expensive hobby and for a long time, I couldn’t afford it. Once I had the money, I realized I didn’t have the time. Even if I could find the time, it would require patience and artistic skill.
Guess what I’m kind of lacking in?
At the end of 2018, let’s just say I found myself with a lot of time on my hands. So, I figured I could finally pursue my miniature hobby and build that painted lady.
Like most people, I headed to the internet to see where to start. And that’s where I ran into problems. Sure, I found some advice (like, don’t start with a painted lady!), but there weren’t a lot of resources for newbies like me. You know, people that figure plain old white glue works on everything. (Spoiler alert: it doesn’t!)
That’s how this website came to be. I wanted to create a resource for beginners who want to build miniature dollhouse but don’t know where to start!
